Senate Resolution 1290

A RESOLUTION

Commending Mrs. Linda S. Biles; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Linda S. Biles has brought great honor to herself, her family, the State of Georgia, and the United States of America through her long and honorable service as a hospital corpsman senior chief petty officer; and

WHEREAS, she has served with distinction as an active duty member of the United States Navy for 21 years and graduated with honors from the United States Navy School for Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Biles has served aboard numerous hospital commands and has trained countless Navy hospital corpsmen in the skills and techniques necessary to save the lives of our honorable soldiers and sailors in battle; and

WHEREAS, her exemplary service has earned her numerous accolades, including three Navy Achievement Medals; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her outstanding service to her country, Mrs. Biles is devoted to her church community in Lilburn, Georgia, where she has been recognized as a caring, supportive, and highly energetic leader, Sunday school teacher, child care provider, food service director, and shut-in service provider; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Biles is revered by all who know her for her integrity and commitment to serving God, family, and country; and

WHEREAS, despite all of Mrs. Biles's civic commitments, she still has time to focus on her family, including her husband, Larry E. Biles, and her sons, Joshua, Jonathan, and Jason; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this talented, dedicated, and extraordinarily distinguished Georgian should be appropriately recognized by this body.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in commending Mrs. Linda S. Biles for her outstanding leadership and in thanking her for all her contributions to the citizens of the United States and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Linda S. Biles.
