Senate Resolution 1251

A RESOLUTION

Recognize the Georgia Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Georgia Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives will be hosting its annual training conference April 2-5, 2006, in Pooler, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, this will be a joint training conference which will include law enforcement executives from the States of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina; and

WHEREAS, this is the first joint regional event in the history of the organization; and

WHEREAS, NOBLE is an organization whose mission is to "ensure equity in the administration of justice in the provision of public service to all communities, and to serve as the conscience of law enforcement by being committed to justice by action"; and

WHEREAS, its goal is "to be recognized as a highly competent, public service organization that is at the forefront of providing solutions to law enforcement issues and concerns, as well as to the ever-changing needs of our communities"; and

WHEREAS, this organization has noble aspirations and vision for law enforcement and the communities they so effectively serve, and it is only fitting this body should recognize this well respected organization and welcome all out of state participants to Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize the Georgia Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives for its dedication to the communities it serves and to the state of Georgia and wish this outstanding organization continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the president of the Georgia NOBLE Chapter, Colonel McArthur Holmes.
