RESOLUTION
Commending
John D. Burch on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
John D. Burch, a Boy Scout from Troop 503, has earned the distinguished rank of
Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS,
since 1911, the Eagle has been the symbol of the highest achievement among the
Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS,
the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed
leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical
capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout life; and
WHEREAS,
John D. Burch has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that he
possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and
WHEREAS,
for a Scout to reach Eagle rank, he must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are
mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and
WHEREAS,
in achieving Eagle Scout status, John D. Burch has brought honor not only to
himself but also to his family and troop.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend John D. Burch for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the
highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on
attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to John D. Burch.
