RESOLUTION
Commending
the Sandy Cross Volunteer Fire Department and congratulating them on the opening
of a new and modern fire station; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the volunteers of the Sandy Cross Volunteer Fire Department who serve Franklin
County as firefighters give unselfishly of their time, talents, knowledge, and
energy to protect their community; and
WHEREAS,
after several years of planning, diligence, and hard work, a dream has come true
for the volunteer fire department with the opening of a new and modern fire
station at 3058 Sandy Cross Road, Royston; and
WHEREAS,
on April 2, 2006, there will be an open house and dedication of the new fire
station with volunteer firefighters and the community joining in the celebration
of the occasion; and
WHEREAS,
it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of this body commend the
courage and dedication of this outstanding volunteer fire
department.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the firefighters of the Sandy Cross Volunteer Fire Department for their
vigilance and dedication, congratulate them on the opening of a new and modern
fire station, and extend our hearty thanks for their vital contributions to the
safety of the citizens of Franklin County.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Sandy Cross Volunteer
Fire Department.
