A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, on February 19, 2006, Lois and Henry Gardner celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, for six decades, these two lovebirds have supported one another through all of life's trials and tribulations and have been by one another's side as they celebrated life's many joys and triumphs; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gardner had a 30 year career as an operating engineer in Chicago, Illinois, while Mrs. Gardner is a retired seamstress; and

WHEREAS, after retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner moved to Vidalia, Georgia, where they are highly respected in the community and are faithful members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Soperton; and

WHEREAS, this very remarkable couple's 60 years of love and devotion to one another are an inspiration to newlyweds everywhere and a true testament of the power of the bond of holy matrimony.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join together in congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner on their celebration of 60 wonderful years of marriage and extend sincere wishes for many more happy years together.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner.
