ACT
To
amend an Act changing the composition and manner of selection of the Board of
Education of Clayton County, approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 4431),
as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 9, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p.
4130), so as to change the compensation of the chairperson and members of such
board; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act changing the composition and manner of selection of the Board of Education
of Clayton County, approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 4431), as
amended, particularly by an Act approved April 9, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 4130),
is amended by striking in its entirety Section 2 and inserting in lieu thereof
the following:
"SECTION
2.
The
chairperson of the board of education shall receive $1,200.00 per month for
attending meetings of the board, and each of the remaining members shall receive
$1,000.00 per month for attending meetings of the board. Such compensation
shall be paid from funds of the board of
education."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2006.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
