BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating a system of public schools for the City of Marietta in the
County of Cobb, approved December 29, 1890 (Ga. L. 1890_91, Vol. II, p. 1014),
as amended, so as to provide for compensation of the board of education; to
provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating a system of public schools for the City of Marietta in the County
of Cobb, approved December 29, 1890 (Ga. L. 1890_91, Vol. II, p. 1014), as
amended, is amended by striking subsection (c) of Section 3 and inserting in
lieu thereof the following:
"(c)
Effective the first day of fiscal year 2007, and thereafter, the compensation
for the chairperson of the Board of Education of the City of Marietta shall be
30 percent of a professionally certified beginning teacher´s salary most
recently set by the State Board of Education, and other members of the Marietta
Board of Education shall have their compensation set at 25 percent of such a
beginning teacher´s
salary."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2006.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
