To
amend Chapter 2 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to registration and licensing of motor vehicles, so as to provide for
registration of private historical military vehicles; to provide for related
matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
2 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
registration and licensing of motor vehicles, is amended by adding a new Code
Section 40-2-41.2 to read as follows:
"40-2-41.2.
(a)
As used in this Code section, the term 'private historical military vehicle'
means any privately owned vehicle, including a trailer, that was manufactured
for use in any
countrýs
military forces and is maintained to represent its military design and markings
accurately, regardless of the
vehiclés
size, weight, or year of manufacture. Such term shall not include vehicles used
for commercial purposes and vehicles owned or operated by this state, by the
United States, or any foreign government.
(b)
Upon registering such vehicle in accordance with this chapter, an owner or
operator of a private historical military vehicle may operate such vehicle on
the highways of this state but shall not be required to display a license plate
on the
vehicle."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
