A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 20-2-920 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to withholding or deducting public school employees´ contributions to the health insurance plan, state contributions, and enrollment of employees of school systems not participating in the plan, so as to provide that not less than 75 percent of the cost of such plan shall be appropriated by the General Assembly; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 20-2-920 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to withholding or deducting public school employees´ contributions to the health insurance plan, state contributions, and enrollment of employees of school systems not participating in the plan, is amended by striking in its entirety subsection (b) and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"(b) The Department of Education and local school systems shall contribute to the health insurance fund such portion of the costs of such benefits as may be established by the board to maintain the employee contributions consistent with other health insurance plans administered by the board; provided, however, that not less than 75 percent of the cost of such fund shall be from funds appropriated by the General Assembly."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
