RESOLUTION
Commending
Melanie Drinkard; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Melanie Drinkard is widely recognized as the personification of excellence in
education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected teacher has served with honor and distinction as a
professional educator at Model High School where she teaches literature;
and
WHEREAS,
she believes that her role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of
inspiration to her pupils and to create a positive learning environment while
enhancing her
studentś
abilities to analyze and reason; and
WHEREAS,
she encourages students to believe in themselves, to pursue every opportunity
for personal growth, to make a commitment to excellence in every aspect of their
lives, and to develop a love of learning which will be beneficial to them
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS,
her talent as a teacher is most evident in the fond regard of her fellow
teachers, superiors, parents, and especially her students; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her outstanding dedication to academic excellence, she was
selected by her
schooĺs
STAR student as the Model High School STAR Teacher.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Melanie Drinkard for her sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of the young people of
this state and congratulate her upon her selection as the Model High School STAR
Teacher.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Melanie
Drinkard.
