RESOLUTION
Commending
Deion Branch; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Deion Branch is an outstanding individual who has excelled as an athlete and in
the community; and
WHEREAS,
this native son of Albany was a record setting football and track and field star
at Monroe Comprehensive High School, Jones County Junior College, and the
University of Louisville; and
WHEREAS,
he elevated his game to a new level as a wide receiver for the New England
Patriots where he led his team in capturing its second consecutive Super Bowl
title; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar man epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and
character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance and
to achieve success as an individual and citizen; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the superlative skills and outstanding
deeds of this accomplished athlete be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Deion Branch for his unprecedented athletic performance;
recognize April 23, 2005, as Deion Branch Bay at the state capitol; and extend
to him their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the
future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Deion Branch.
