RESOLUTION
Celebrating
the 100th birthday of Mrs. Beatrice Elliott; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Beatrice Elliot was born on January 8, 1905, the second child of loving
parents Reverend and Mrs. William Parks; and
WHEREAS,
educated in the Coweta Public School System, she graduated from Fort Valley
State College and also attended Atlanta University, North Carolina University,
and West Georgia College; and
WHEREAS,
this graceful, distinguished, and educated lady devoted her professional life to
educating the children in the Coweta and Carroll County school systems where she
taught for more than four decades, earning the esteem and admiration of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS,
a dedicated and active member of her church and community, she served as a
Sunday school and Bible school teacher, was a member of the Mass Choir and the
Courtesy Guild, and gave generously of her time and talent as a Girl Scout and
Boy Scout troop leader; and
WHEREAS,
fondly called "Mrs. Be," she has traveled extensively throughout the United
States and Europe and shared with her only child, daughter Melvinor Kendrick,
the vast experiences and spiritual teachings that have served her so well;
and
WHEREAS,
by the example she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in
which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately
recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
expresses its congratulations and best wishes to one of our
statés
most honorable citizens, Mrs. Beatrice Elliot, on the happy event of her 100th
birthday and thanks her for all her many contributions to this wonderful State
of Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Beatrice
Elliot.
