RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the founding of Alpharetta High School; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Alpharetta High School opened its doors for the first time in August of 2004;
and
WHEREAS,
home of the mighty Raiders, this 330,000 square foot, state of the art facility
is perched on a 74 acre campus with spectacular views of the surrounding
landscape, serves 1,450 students, and offers 50 academic and service clubs, 15
Advanced Placement courses, and a full complement of sports programs;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Robert E. Burke, the first principal of this exciting new school, is leading
a talented team of educators to give their students the highest quality
instruction during the special and memorable years of their high school
education; and
WHEREAS,
this new school, located on Webb Bridge Road, is the 14th high school built by
Fulton County Schools and is carrying on a tradition of excellence and
innovation characteristic of this outstanding school system; and
WHEREAS,
the Alpharetta community and the State of Georgia look forward with great
anticipation to many years of success at this promising new high
school.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing the founding of Alpharetta High School and extend
their sincere best wishes for the success of all its future students, teachers,
and administrators.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Alpharetta
High School.
