RESOLUTION
Commending
Samuel Lewis; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Samuel Lewis has had a long and distinguished career in law enforcement;
and
WHEREAS,
he served with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms from 1968 to 1995;
and
WHEREAS,
he thereafter served as the arson investigation curriculum coordinator at the
Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth; and
WHEREAS,
his many accomplishments include organizing a panel of public and private arson
investigators to review, revise, and expand the arson investigation program,
which through his efforts became certified for national professional
qualifications purposes; obtaining burn cells for use in the program; assessing
the ramifications of the NFPA 921 Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations;
serving as an instructor in the arson investigation program; and training and
overseeing the training of more than 1,200 arson investigators in this state;
and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting and proper that he be recognized by this body.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Samuel Lewis for his many contributions to the
welfare of this state and nation.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Samuel Lewis.
