RESOLUTION
Commending
Reverend Dr. Matthew Vaughn Johnson, Sr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Reverend Dr. Matthew Vaughn Johnson, Sr., has spent a lifetime answering God's
call to be His messenger to do His will; and
WHEREAS,
whether the task is preparing a sermon; visiting the sick; counseling the
troubled; baptizing a new believer; or acting as a theologian, educator,
administrator, or humanitarian, or any of the other countless responsibilities
of a minister of the Gospel, Reverend Johnson has shown the energy, devotion,
and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and
WHEREAS,
on December 1, 2004, Reverend Johnson was called to serve as the second pastor
of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS,
the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Johnson is a source of
strength, inspiration, and direction for persons in all walks of life and from
all economic strata; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the outstanding
accomplishments of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious
man.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Reverend Dr. Matthew Vaughn Johnson, Sr., for his unparalleled
record of community service and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of
persons in need and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued
health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Dr.
Matthew Vaughn Johnson, Sr.
