RESOLUTION
Commending
Reverend Charlie Fogle, Sr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Reverend Charlie Fogle, Sr., was called and licensed into the ministry on March
11, 1955; and
WHEREAS,
he has long been recognized for the vital role that he has played in providing
leadership and spiritual guidance and in serving the citizens of this state;
and
WHEREAS,
he is a native of Savannah and he attended Savannah State College and the
Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this devout servant of the Lord has served as pastor at St. Mary's AME Church,
St. Luke AME Church, Townsley Chapel AME Church, Taylor Chapel AME Church, St.
Peter's AME Church, Bethel AME Church, Union Springs AME Church, and he is
currently serving as pastor at Thebes AME Church in Midway, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he is a member of numerous organizations including the AME Ministerial Alliance,
the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, the Emancipation Association, and
the NAACP; and
WHEREAS,
he is a source of strength, inspiration, and direction for persons in all walks
of life and from all economic strata; and
WHEREAS,
he is married to Dorothy Roberson Fogle and they have three children, five
grandchildren, and one great grandchild; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding accomplishments
of Reverend Charlie Fogle, Sr.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Reverend Charlie Fogle, Sr., for his unparalleled record of
community service and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons
in need and extend their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend
Charlie Fogle, Sr.
