RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mrs. Lois Stene Perryman; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Lois Stene Perryman, one of the most distinguished citizens of Georgia and
the Atlanta area, recently passed away; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Perryman was a native Atlantan with a family history in Georgia spanning
many generations; and
WHEREAS,
she was the daughter of Lula Mae Bailey and the Bailey and Reynolds families
founded Reynoldstown, Atlanta's oldest African American neighborhood;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Perryman was an accomplished educator who taught at M. Agnes Jones
Elementary School in Atlanta and Strong Vincent High School in Erie,
Pennsylvania, and left the legacy of a strong influence on thousands of young
people; and
WHEREAS,
she was also a successful businesswoman, a strong supporter of civic causes, and
a beloved and loving wife and mother; and
WHEREAS,
she is survived by two daughters, Davidayon Mayers-Kelley and Lois Marinvia
Hutchins and two grandchildren.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Lois Stene
Perryman.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mrs. Perryman.
