RESOLUTION
Honoring
Dr. Marsha Barnett, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2004-2005 and inviting her to
appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Marsha Barnett is the reigning Miss Jamaica Festival Queen; and
WHEREAS,
as a cultural ambassador for her beautiful island nation, Dr. Barnett represents
to the world the great charm and allure of her homeland and its people;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Barnett is a medical doctor who graduated from the University of the West
Indies where she earned a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery;
and
WHEREAS,
talented, beautiful, and highly accomplished, she is a most deserving
representative of the best of Jamaica.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body honor Dr. Marsha Barnett, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2004-2005, and
welcome her to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that she is invited to appear before the House of
Representatives at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Marsha
Barnett.
