A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and congratulating Reverend Robert L. Plummer; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Robert L. Plummer is well known in evangelical circles as a Bible teacher, conference speaker, and pastor who has enjoyed a rewarding career in ministering; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Plummer was born in Jenkins County, Georgia, to the late Reverend R. P. Plummer and Mrs. Ella Plummer; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Plummeŕs pastoral service includes serving as pastor or interim pastor at the following Georgia churches: St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Blitchen; St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Garfield; St. Andrews A.M.E. Church in Darien; Bethel A.M.E. Church in Arco; St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Kingsland; Taylor Chapel A.M.E. Church in Savannah; St. Thomas A.M.E. Church in Savannah; Bethel A.M.E. Church in Sylvania; and Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church in Savannah; and

WHEREAS, he has also served as a presiding elder for the West Savannah and Savannah districts; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Plummer has not only served as a spiritual leader in the community but is recognized for his vital role in leading the community in educational and cultural endeavors; and

WHEREAS, he is married to Mrs. Lillie Bell Roberts Plummer and together with his late wife, Mrs. Celeste Plummer, is the beloved father of three daughters and grandfather of three grandchildren.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and congratulate Reverend Robert L. Plummer on being credited by Our Brotheŕs Keeper for his more than 56 years of devotion to Savannah and convey their best wishes in his future pursuits.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Robert L. Plummer.
