A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
Mrs. Eula Brown on the grand occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
on March 3, 1905, Mrs. Eula Brown was born the third of 11 children to loving
parents John and Amanda Atwell in Burke County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has been a faithful member of Noah's Ark Missionary Baptist Church for more
than 85 years; and
WHEREAS,
she was a devoted wife to her beloved late husband, Mr. Willie Brown;
and
WHEREAS,
she has imparted to generations of descendants, including her two daughters,
Willie Mae Hughes and Adaline Lovett, her 21 grandchildren, 71
great-grandchildren, 74 great-great-grandchildren, and 11
great-great-great-grandchildren, her century-long accumulation of knowledge and
wisdom and has taught them the values that have served her well;
and
WHEREAS,
she has watched the world change dramatically over the course of her lifetime
and has contributed to its progress by her own hard work, dedication to duty,
and good citizenship; and
WHEREAS,
family and friends are gathering on Saturday, March 5, 2005, to celebrate this
amazing woman on the momentous occasion of her 100th birthday.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring Mrs. Eula Brown as she celebrates this special and
memorable time in her life and extend their sincere best wishes for many more
years of happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Eula
Brown.
