RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Urban Financial Services Coalition; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) was established and incorporated
in New York City in 1974 and grew into a national entity in 1977 which currently
serves 38 chapters and more than 5,000 affiliates; and
WHEREAS,
over the years, UFSC has evolved to meet the dynamic needs of its members in
banking, insurance, brokerage, securities, and other areas of the financial
services industry; and
WHEREAS,
UFSC's mission is to be the preeminent financial services organization providing
professional development programs, support for educational advancement, and
economic empowerment of its members and minority communities at large;
and
WHEREAS,
Atlanta is hosting UFSC's 31st Annual National Conference from June 13 to 19,
2005; and
WHEREAS,
it is highly fitting and proper that this body take this opportunity to
recognize the contributions and accomplishments of this exemplary
organization.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
recognizes the many outstanding contributions of the Urban Financial Services
Coalition and welcomes its members to Atlanta, Georgia, for their 31st Annual
National Conference.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Damita
Barbee, President of the Urban Financial Services Coalition.
