RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Brand Banking Company during its centennial celebration; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
on April 29, 1905, the Brand Banking Company was organized in Lawrenceville,
Georgia, by E. M. Brand, L. M. Brand, C. H. Brand, T. R. Powell, and A. M. Winn;
and
WHEREAS,
the Brand Banking Company began conducting business at the building located on
the courthouse square on Crogan Street in Lawrenceville, the same building where
the main office is located today; and
WHEREAS,
the Brand Banking Company now has six banking locations in Gwinnett and Hall
counties; and
WHEREAS,
the Brand Banking Company began operating in 1905 with three employees and today
it employs more than 200 persons; and
WHEREAS,
the Brand Banking Company was begun by and managed by the Brand Family and
continues to be owned and managed by the Morgan-Brand Family; and
WHEREAS,
the present Chief Executive Officer is the great, great-grandson of the founder,
E. M. Brand; and
WHEREAS,
Barton Morgan, III, continues to provide visionary leadership; and
WHEREAS,
the Brand Banking Company has served its community, state, and nation for 100
years.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the Brand Banking Company during its centennial celebration
and express their appreciation for its 100 years of service in the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Brand
Banking Company.
