Porter of the 143rd et al. move to amend HR 237 by adding after line 36 on page
2 the following:
"Because
of the complexities involved and the difficulty in applying these standards, the
General Assembly finds that it would be better served by having all future
redistricting standards handled by an independent commission appointed by the
leadership of both parties in the House of Representatives and the Senate and
chaired by an individual agreed upon by the members of the
commission."
