RESOLUTION
Commending
Margaret Cox Grady; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Margaret Cox Grady began her distinguished tenure with First Baptist Church in
Thomasville, Georgia, on June 12, 1966; and
WHEREAS,
during such time, she has served as the Associate Minister of Music and Youth
and organist; and
WHEREAS,
she has been involved in many aspects of the church, including starting the
handbell program in 1971 and participating in many mission trips over the years;
and
WHEREAS,
as organist, she has played offertories twice every Sunday for 40 years for a
total of 4,160 and has played over 16,640 hymns over the past 40 years;
and
WHEREAS,
her favorite hymn is the revered classic "Great Is Thy Faithfulness";
and
WHEREAS,
she will celebrate her 40th anniversary with the church on May 28, 2006, with an
Anniversary Celebration; and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting and proper that she be recognized by this body.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Margaret Cox Grady for her faithful service to her church and
her community.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Margaret Cox
Grady.
