A RESOLUTION

Commending the Technology Student Association; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Technology Student Association (TSA) is the oldest student organization in the country dedicated exclusively to students enrolled in technology education in grades K-12, providing opportunities for students to excel and advance in technological education; and

WHEREAS, the TSA has a rich history that spans more than three decades of preparing its membership to be successful leaders and responsible citizens in a technological society through co-curricular activities vital to technology education programs, including communication, leadership, and competitive skill development in the classroom and laboratory environment; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia TSA is one of the most outstanding student organizations in our state and its many accomplishments are the direct result of the unparalleled talent, persistent hard work, and selfless dedication of the 2005-2006 state officers: President Mary Catherine Farrell, of Toombs County High School; First Vice President Matt Ralston, of Fannin County High School; Second Vice President Zoe Wolford, of Fannin County Middle School; Secretary Lesly Stalvey, of Irwin County High School; Treasurer Jenna Phillips, of Brooks County High School; Reporter Erin Summerlin, of Toombs County High School; and Sergeant-at-Arms Stanley Wyre from Lovejoy High School; and

WHEREAS, through her dedication, ability, and encouragement, state TSA Advisor Gayle K. Silvey continues to improve this important educational program; and

WHEREAS, the TSA does an excellent job introducing new technological ideas for education programs in Georgia schools and increasing public awareness for the need for continued advancement in technological education; and

WHEREAS, these fine young men and women of TSA proudly support their motto, "Learning to Live in a Technical World," and are outstanding examples and role models for the young people of this state, empowering others around them by their example of courage, hard work, and success; and

WHEREAS, TSA is a vital and integral contributor to quality education in the State of Georgia and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this amazing association be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Technology Student Association on its accomplishments and achievements for advancing technology education for Georgia students and convey their best wishes on TSÁs future pursuits.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Technology Student Association and Gayle K. Silvey.
