RESOLUTION
Commending
the Sequoyah High School Chiefs football team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Sequoyah High School Chiefs football team has established and maintained a
proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;
and
WHEREAS,
this superlative team has completed an ultrasuccessful season of Class AAAA
football competition by posting a fantastic record of 11 wins and only two
losses, qualifying for the state playoffs for the fifth consecutive year, and
advancing to the state quarterfinals; and
WHEREAS,
although the Chiefs have ended the storybook run of their remarkable 2004
campaign, they have left a clear message they will be returning next season to
take care of unfinished business; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents;
and the astute direction of Head Coach Sid Maxwell; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its
well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality
of its play, and the stiff competition which it presented its
opponents.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Sequoyah High School Chiefs football team for its
outstanding achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued
success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach
Sid Maxwell.
