RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Susan Ralstin, recipient of the 2004 Milken Family Foundation
National Educator Award; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Susan Ralstin is one of only 100 exceptional educators chosen as a recipient
of the 2004 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award; and
WHEREAS,
as a Milken Educator, Ms. Ralstin joins an elite group of 2,000 educators that
form a national network that links teachers, principals, and specialists who can
serve as an expert resource base with policy makers seeking to improve public
education; and
WHEREAS,
Milken Educators are selected for their exceptional educational talent as
evidenced by outstanding instructional practices in the classroom, school, and
profession; outstanding accomplishments and strong long-range potential for
professional and policy leadership; and an engaging and inspiring presence that
motivates and impacts students, colleagues, and the community; and
WHEREAS,
she has demonstrated her dedication to improving the quality of education
received by her students and has had great success closing the achievement gap
by using achievement data to develop instructional plans and meet the needs of
individual students in her classroom; and
WHEREAS,
she is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
classroom teachers are making on the quality of education received by the
children of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that her
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Ms. Susan Ralstin for her
contributions on behalf of education in Georgia and congratulate her upon her
selection for the 2004 Milken Family Foundation National Educator
Award.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Susan
Ralstin.
