A RESOLUTION

Commending Stephen Harlin on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Stephen Harlin, a member of Boy Scout Troop 576, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, awarded during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 25, 2006; and

WHEREAS, since 1911, the Eagle Scout Award has been the symbol of the highest and most prestigious achievement among the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Harlin has joined the elite ranks of the top 4 percent of scouts who achieve the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, the candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout must complete a rigorous program of training and must demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques and commitment to the highest ideals of scouting; and

WHEREAS, the attainment of this rank indicates that a scout has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Harlińs Eagle Scout Service Project involved organizing a group who put over 120 hours into making six picnic tables for East Gwinnett Church; and

WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Stephen Harlin has brought honor to himself, his family, and his troop.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Stephen Harlin is recognized and commended on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and he is extended best wishes for success and happiness in future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Stephen Harlin.
