A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Berkmar High School Academic Decathlon Team for winning the Georgia state
academic decathlon championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Berkmar High School Academic Decathlon Team has secured its fourth
consecutive PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon state title; and
WHEREAS,
under the steadfast guidance of Coach I.V. Bray, the Berkmar decathlon team
demonstrated its significant skills over the course of the two-day contest,
facing 27 other schools from throughout Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the members of this multitalented team are required to spend a substantial
amount of after-school hours in practice competition and are selected because of
their dedication and love of knowledge and learning as well as their ability to
demonstrate their comprehension and mastery of numerous subjects under pressure;
and
WHEREAS,
the Berkmar team will represent the State of Georgia in this
yeaŕs
United States Academic Decathlon competition; and
WHEREAS,
the Lilburn community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of these fine young scholars.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending the state champion Berkmar High School Academic
Decathlon Team and its coach, I.V. Bray, for their outstanding pursuit and
attainment of academic excellence and extend their sincerest best wishes for the
teaḿs
continued success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Berkmar
High School Academic Decathlon Team.
