RESOLUTION
Commending
Craig Hamlin on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Craig Hamlin, of Boy Scout Troop 326 in Athens, Georgia, has earned the rank of
Eagle Scout, which will be awarded to him at an Eagle Court of Honor on March 5,
2006; and
WHEREAS,
in order to receive this exceptional award, he earned 21 merit badges and served
his troop in a variety of leadership roles; and
WHEREAS,
for his Eagle Scout project, Craig Hamlin built and placed 16 wood duck houses
in Sandy Creek Park, making a lasting contribution to the park through his hard
work and perseverance; and
WHEREAS,
only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and Craig
Hamlin has ably demonstrated his aptitude and competency in mastering the many
special skills taught through the Boy Scout program; and
WHEREAS,
Craig Hamlin has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of
honesty and fairness and has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming
of an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS,
in a world which all too often seems to dwell on the negative aspects of the
actions of young people, it is especially fitting and proper for this body to
recognize the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary young
man.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Craig Hamlin for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the
highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on
attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle
Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Craig Hamlin.
