RESOLUTION
Commending
Gwinnett Medical Center and recognizing February 6, 2006, as "Gwinnett Medical
Center Recognition Day"; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
it is the mission of Gwinnett Hospital System and of Gwinnett Medical Center to
provide the highest quality health care every day and for every patient;
and
WHEREAS,
Gwinnett Medical Center has been selected to receive the 2006 HealthGrades
Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence Award; and
WHEREAS,
HealthGrades presents these prestigious honors to a select few hospitals in the
United States; these medical facilities represent the highest scoring of the
nation's full-service hospitals; and
WHEREAS,
this recognition places Gwinnett Medical Center among the top 5 percent of
hospitals in the nation based on the level of clinical excellence its physicians
and staff provide; and
WHEREAS,
Gwinnett Medical Center also earned many other distinctions in HealthGrades
rankings, including receiving the best ratings in the North Atlanta area for hip
fracture repair and stroke care, as well as being the only North Atlanta
hospital to be ranked among the top 5 percent in the nation for overall
pulmonary care; and
WHEREAS,
Gwinnett Medical Center was also ranked among the top ten in Georgia for
gastrointestinal services as well as for overall critical care.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Gwinnett Medical Center for its outstanding
contributions to health care and recognize Monday, February 6, 2006, as
"Gwinnett Medical Center Recognition
Day."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Gwinnett Medical Center.
