RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Day; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
real estate appraisers play an integral role in Georgia's economy, helping both
buyers and sellers to make sound decisions on land transactions by providing
reliable and unbiased assessments of value; and
WHEREAS,
given the stress that real property transactions can cause, the services of
professional appraisers help to ensure fairness and peace of mind;
and
WHEREAS,
estimates of value and opinion of values are integral to financial stability in
every market economy; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Appraisers Coalition (GAC) seeks to serve the needs of all of the
state's appraisers and consists of several appraisal organizations, including
the Appraisal Institute, the American Society of Appraisers, the American
Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, the International Association of
Assessing Officers, the International Right of Way Association, the National
Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, the National Association of Master
Appraisals, and the National Society of Real Estate Appraisers; and
WHEREAS,
considering the great economic importance of their honorable profession, it is
only fitting and proper that this body pay tribute to Georgia's real estate
appraisers and recognize the vital services they provide to our
citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing Thursday, February 9, 2006, as "Georgia Real
Estate Appraisers Day" and thank all of the state's real estate appraisers for
their many contributions to Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia
Appraisers Coalition.
