RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Mr. Melvin Howard Robinson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
in the summer of 2004, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
distinguished citizens with the untimely passing of Mr. Melvin Howard Robinson;
and
WHEREAS,
he was born on April 20, 1947, to the late Marvin H. and Fannie L. Robinson;
and
WHEREAS,
as a child he joined the Shiloh Baptist Church of College Park, Georgia, under
the leadership of Reverend H. T. Thomas, where he faithfully served on the
Junior Usher Board and sang in the Junior Choir; and
WHEREAS,
he attended Jefferson Franklin Beavers Elementary School in College Park,
Georgia, and was a graduate of South Fulton High School, Class of 1965; and
WHEREAS,
he joined the United States Air Force in 1967, and after receiving an honorable
discharge returned home to College Park, Georgia, where he dutifully worked for
Southern Railroad for a number of years before becoming a valuable employee of
Lockheed; and
WHEREAS,
the untimely passing of this patriotic, hardworking, and kind man leaves an
unfillable void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Mr.
Melvin Howard Robinson.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. Melvin Howard Robinson.
