A RESOLUTION

Commending Charles R. Ford on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Charles R. Ford of Boy Scout Troop 554 of Lawrenceville, Georgia, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout after completing the rigorous requirements of this honor, including overseeing the construction of a 30 foot long bridge at Fort Yargo State Park for his Eagle Scout project; and

WHEREAS, Charles R. Ford will receive this highest achievement among Boy Scouts of America in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on January 28, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout life; and

WHEREAS, Charles R. Ford has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that he possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and

WHEREAS, for a Scout to reach Eagle rank, he must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and

WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Charles R. Ford has brought honor not only to himself but also to his family and troop.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Charles R. Ford for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Charles R. Ford.
