A RESOLUTION

Commending the Links Incorporated and proclaiming January 22, 2006, as "Links Smorgasbord of Prayer" in the City of LaGrange; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Links, Incorporated has been organized since 1946 and now numbers over 9,300 women in 254 chapters located in 39 states, the District of Columbia; Nassau, Bahamas; and Frankfurt, Germany; and

WHEREAS, the Links, Incorporated is not only a chain of friendship, but also a chain of purposeful service; and

WHEREAS, the Links, Incorporated is committed to educational, cultural, and civic activities and endeavors to provide enrichment experiences for those who are educationally disadvantaged and culturally deprived; and

WHEREAS, the Links, Incorporated fosters programs through Nationals Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, the Arts and Services to Youth Facets and through these facets members address those issues and concerns that impact on the quality of life globally; and

WHEREAS, the International Trends and Services Facet sets aside a day, with a program known as Smorgasbord of Prayer, to focus on those issues which impact life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body do hereby proclaim Sunday, January 22, 2006, as "Links Smorgasbord of Prayer" in the City of LaGrange.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Links, Incorporated.
