RESOLUTION
Commending
the 2004 University of Georgia Baseball Team and Head Coach David Perno for
their outstanding season; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the University of Georgia Baseball Team finished their season with an
outstanding record of 45-23 and tied for third in the country in the highly
contested 2004 College World Series, making 2004 the second most successful
season in the school's history; and
WHEREAS,
the team won an amazing 19 of this season's conference games and clenched the
2004 SEC Eastern Division Championship at Foley Field with a 6-4 win over South
Carolina and went on to claim the title 2004 SEC Co-Champions, adding a fifth
conference title to the school's baseball legacy; and
WHEREAS,
Bulldog fans set school records in attendance for both a three-game
regular-season series and a season per-game average, an accomplishment which
testifies to character, talent, and dedication of this exceptional team;
and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable team consists of many fine individuals, including #19 Joe

WHEREAS,
their hard work and commitment to their team and their sport have set a fine
example of sportsmanship for all young athletes in the State of
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating the 2004 University of Georgia Baseball Team on
a tremendously successful 2004 season and commend Head Coach David Perno and the
entire team for their excellent performance.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach
David Perno.
