BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act reconstituting and recreating the board of education of Elbert
County, approved February 13, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3578), as amended,
particularly by an Act approved February 9, 1990 (Ga. L. 1990, p. 3508), so as
to provide for compensation of board members; to provide an effective date; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act reconstituting and recreating the board of education of Elbert County,
approved February 13, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3578), as amended, particularly by
an Act approved February 9, 1990 (Ga. L. 1990, p. 3508), is amended by striking
Section 6.1 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"SECTION
6.1.
The
chairperson of the board of education of Elbert County shall be paid a salary of
$300.00 per month, and the other members of the board of education shall be paid
a salary of $200.00 per month. Each member of the board, including without
limitation the chairperson, shall be paid an additional $50.00 for each work
session or called meeting held during any month. The additional pay shall be
limited to $100.00 per month, resulting in a maximum salary for the chairperson
of $400.00 per month and a maximum salary for the other board members of $300.00
per
month."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2005.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
