BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
abolish the office of elected county surveyor of Jones County pursuant to Code
Section 36-7-2.1 of the O.C.G.A.; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
(a)
Pursuant to Code Section 36-7-2.1 of the O.C.G.A., the office of elected county
surveyor of Jones County is
abolished.
(b) The Board of Commissioners of Jones County is authorized to appoint a county surveyor. The county surveyor shall be appointed for an indefinite term and shall serve at the pleasure of the board of commissioners. A county surveyor appointed by the board of commissioners shall possess the qualifications as provided in Code Section 36-7-2 of the O.C.G.A.
(b) The Board of Commissioners of Jones County is authorized to appoint a county surveyor. SECTION

laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
