A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act re-creating the board of commissioners of Colquitt County, approved March 24, 1974 (Ga. L. 1974, p. 3078), as amended, so as to change certain provisions regarding the compensation and qualifications of the county administrator; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act re-creating the board of commissioners of Colquitt County, approved March 24, 1974 (Ga. L. 1974, p. 3078), as amended, is amended by striking Sections 10 and 11 and inserting in their place new Sections 10 and 11 to read as follows:

"SECTION 10.
Compensation of county administrator.

The county administrator shall receive a salary to be fixed by the board.

SECTION 11.
Qualifications of county administrator.

The county administrator shall be chosen by the board solely upon the basis of his or her executive and administrative qualifications with special reference to his or her actual experience in, or knowledge of, accepted practices in respect to the duties of his or her office as hereinafter set forth. The county administrator shall be appointed by the board and hold office at the discretion of the board and may be discharged at will by the board for cause, or without cause upon a period of time set by the board but to not exceed six monthś notice of such removal."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
