AN ACT
AN ACT
To
abolish the office of elected county surveyor of Harris County pursuant to Code
Section 36-7-2.1 of the O.C.G.A.; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
(a)
Pursuant to Code Section 36-7-2.1 of the O.C.G.A., the office of elected county
surveyor of Harris County is
abolished.
(b) The Board of Commissioners of Harris County is authorized but shall not be required to appoint a county surveyor. Any county surveyor appointed by the board of commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the board of commissioners and under such terms and conditions and for such length of time as such board may deem appropriate. A county surveyor appointed by the board of commissioners shall possess the qualifications as provided in Code Section 36-7-2 of the O.C.G.A.

laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
