BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing an annual salary for the Wilkes County coroner, approved
March 13, 1978 (Ga. L. 1978, p. 3121), as amended, particularly by an Act
approved April 4, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 3919), so as to increase the salary of
the coroner; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing an annual salary for the Wilkes County coroner, approved March 13,
1978 (Ga. L. 1978, p. 3121), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April
4, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 3919), is amended by striking Section 1 and inserting
in lieu thereof the following:
"SECTION
1.
The
coroner of Wilkes County shall receive an annual salary of $3,600.00 in lieu of
all fees, costs, and emoluments of whatever kind and nature. Such salary shall
be paid in equal monthly installments out of the funds of Wilkes County. The
county shall also be permitted to provide employment benefits to the coroner
including but not limited to health insurance if the Board of Commissioners of
Wilkes County so
decides."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
