A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act providing a method of compensating the members of the board of education of Hall County, approved February 25, 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 3504), so as to change certain provisions regarding the amount of such compensation; to provide for the automatic repeal of this Act; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act providing a method of compensating the members of the board of education of Hall County, approved February 25, 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 3504), is amended by adding a new section immediately following Section 1, to be designated Section 1A, to read as follows:

"SECTION 1A.
The board of education is authorized to increase the amount specified in Section 1 as compensation. The board of education shall take no action to increase such compensation until notice of intent to take such action and the fiscal impact of such action has been published in a newspaper designated as the legal organ for the county at least once a week for three consecutive weeks immediately preceding the first public meeting at which the proposed action is discussed. The board of education shall conduct no fewer than two public meetings regarding any such proposed increase. All such meetings shall not commence sooner than 7:00 P.M. No final action on such proposed increase shall be taken sooner than the second such meeting."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall stand repealed in its entirety on December 31, 2006.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
