BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the Board of Education of Liberty County, approved
December 10, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3452), as amended, particularly by an Act
approved April 13, 2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 3768), so as to provide a per diem
allowance for the chairperson and members of the board of education; to provide
for restrictions; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the Board of Education of Liberty County, approved December 10,
1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3452), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April
13, 2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 3768), is amended by striking subsection (g) of
Section 2 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"(g)
The chairperson and members of the board of education shall receive the sum of
$500.00 per month and the chairperson shall receive an additional sum of $210.00
per month. In addition, the chairperson and each member of the board of
education shall receive a per diem allowance of $128.00 for each day on which he
or she is required by the duties of his or her office to travel 50 miles or more
outside of Liberty County on official business for the county. The per diem
shall be payable to members only for travel first authorized by the
chairperson."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
