BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act placing the Clerk of the Superior Court and the Judge of the
Probate Court of Lumpkin County upon an annual salary, approved April 3, 1972
(Ga. L. 1972, p. 3851), as amended, so as to change the provisions relating to
the compensation of the clerk of the superior court and the judge of the probate
court; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act placing the Clerk of the Superior Court and the Judge of the Probate Court
of Lumpkin County upon an annual salary, approved April 3, 1972 (Ga. L. 1972,
p. 3851), as amended, is amended in Section 2 by repealing in its entirety
subsection (c) which reads as follows:
"(c)
As used in this subsection 'county officer' means the sheriff, judge of the
probate court, tax commissioner or Commissioner of Lumpkin County. If at any
time after January 1, 1982, the salary of any county officer is increased during
a calendar year, either by local law or pursuant to general law, then the salary
provided by this Section for the clerk of the superior court of Lumpkin County
shall be increased in the same dollar amount as the dollar amount of the
increase in the salary of the county officer, effective at the same time as the
effective date in the increase in the salary of the county officer. In the
event the salary of two or more county officers is increased during a calendar
year, the provisions of this subsection shall apply only to the salary increase
which is greatest in dollar
amount."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended in Section 3 by repealing in its entirety subsection (c)
which reads as follows:
"(c)

increase in the salary of the county officer, effective at the same time as the
effective date in the increase in the salary of the county officer. In the
event the salary of two or more county officers is increased during a calendar
year, the provisions of this subsection shall apply only to the salary increase
which is greatest in dollar
amount."
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
