BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 10-1-393 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to unfair or deceptive practices in consumer transactions, so as to provide that
the terms of phone cards shall be disclosed at the time of purchase and through
certain notifications; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 10-1-393 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to unfair
or deceptive practices in consumer transactions, is amended in subsection (b) by
striking the word "or" at the end of paragraph (31), striking the period and
inserting the symbol and word "; or" at the end of paragraph (32), and adding a
new paragraph (33) to read as follows:
"(33)
For any person, firm, partnership, association, or corporation to issue a phone
card without disclosing the terms of the phone card, including all usage fees
and per minute charges, to the purchaser of the phone card at the time of
purchase."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
