A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 16-13-33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to attempt or conspiracy to commit offense under article relating to regulation of controlled substances, so as to provide that any person who attempts or conspires to commit an offense under this article shall be punished by a sentence not exceeding the maximum punishment for the offense, the commission of which was the object of the attempt or conspiracy; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 16-13-33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to attempt or conspiracy to commit offense under article relating to regulation of controlled substances, is amended by striking said Code section in its entirety and inserting in its place the following:
"16-13-33.
Any person who attempts or conspires to commit any offense defined in this article shall be, upon conviction thereof, punished by imprisonment or a fine not exceeding the maximum punishment prescribed for the offense, the commission of which was the object of the attempt or conspiracy."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
