BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating a board of utilities commissioners for Catoosa County,
approved March 17, 1956 (Ga. L. 1956, p. 3499), as amended, particularly by an
Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 4416), so as to provide for a limit
on the number of terms which members of such board may serve; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating a board of utilities commissioners for Catoosa County, approved
March 17, 1956 (Ga. L. 1956, p. 3499), as amended, particularly by an Act
approved April 16, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 4416), is amended by striking in its
entirety paragraph (6) of subsection (b) of Section 1 and inserting in lieu
thereof the following:
"(6)
The members serving on the board of utilities commissioners on the effective
date of this Act shall continue to serve until the end of their terms. Their
successors shall serve terms of six years. Members shall be eligible for
reelection; provided, however, that no person shall serve more than three full
terms. A member of the authority may be removed for just cause by the vote of
other members of the
authority."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
