BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing a new charter for the City of Washington, Georgia,
approved February 14, 1958 (Ga. L. 1958, p. 2139), as amended, so as to change
and extend the corporate limits of said city; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing a new charter for the City of Washington, Georgia, approved
February 14, 1958 (Ga. L. 1958, p. 2139), as amended, is amended by adding a new
subsection at the end of Section 3, to be designated subsection (c), to read as
follows:
"(c)
In addition to the present territory included within the corporate limits of
said city, the corporate limits shall also include the following:
The
eastern portion of a 6.47 acre tract of land shown as tract 'B' on a plat
prepared by Neill H. Echols, Georgia Registered Land Surveyor, dated December
29, 1999 and recorded in Plat Book 12, Page 276, Wilkes County Records. Said
property is more particularly described as that portion of said tract lying to
the east of the 'Washington City Limit' line depicted on said plat. Reference
is made to said plat for a more particular description of the metes bounds and
location of said property.
Said
property is a portion of that 6.47 acre tract conveyed to James E. Harper, Jr.
and Carolyn Harper by warranty deed from Marion P. Pope, III and Charlotte P.
Simmons dated May 7, 2004 and recorded in deed book 225, page 326 Wilkes County
Records."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
