BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 7 of Chapter 4 of Title 49 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to medical assistance generally, so as to set a minimum
amount for the personal needs allowance for Medicaid beneficiaries of nursing
homes; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
7 of Chapter 4 of Title 49 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to medical assistance generally, is amended by adding a new Code Section
49-4-158 to read as follows:
"49-4-158.
The
director of the Division of Medical Assistance of the department shall permit
through rules and regulations each medical assistance recipient approved for
nursing home payments to retain from his or her monthly income a minimum amount
of $45.00 a month for his or her personal needs
allowance."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
