A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 20-2-161 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the Quality Basic Education Formula, so as to provide that the middle grades program is funded at the same program weight as the middle school program; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 20-2-161 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the Quality Basic Education Formula, by striking subsection (b) in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"(b) As the cost of instructional programs varies depending upon the teacher-student ratios and specific services typically required to address the special needs of students enrolled, state authorized instructional programs shall have the following program weights and teacher-student ratios:
(1) Kindergarten program
